Ingredients:
sponge cake:
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup cake flour
- 4 tablespoons of cocoa
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- pinch of salt
halva cream:
- 400 g vanilla halva
- 3 vanilla puddings
- 3 cups of milk
- 200g butter
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
Additionally:
- cherry liqueur or cherry compote
- pitted cherries from liqueur or compote
- grated dark chocolate for sprinkling
Preparation:
Beat the egg whites with salt until stiff. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating. Then add the egg yolks and sifted flour, baking powder and cocoa. Mix all the ingredients gently and pour the resulting dough into a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake at 170 degrees for about 35 minutes. After baking, leave the sponge cake to cool.
In the meantime, prepare the cream. Mix the puddings in a glass of milk. Boil the remaining two glasses of milk with sugar and pour the mixed pudding into it. Boil the whole thing, cover and set aside to cool. Then crumble the halva into the soft butter and rub everything together. Gradually add the pudding and continue to rub the mass into a uniform cream.
Divide the mixture into three parts. Then cut the sponge cake into two layers. Soak the first layer with cherry liqueur and spread with 1/3 of the cream. Spread the pitted cherries on the cream. Cover them again with 1/3 of the cream and the second layer soaked in cream. Cover the top with the remaining cream and sprinkle with chocolate. Put the cake in the fridge to let the mixture stiffen.
Enjoy your meal!
